2 April - Kayaking Bermagui River

Walk Coordinators: Lyn Evans and Phillip Kendall
Grade: Easy Distance: 12-15 km
Day event
Meet: 9.30 am at Car park at end of South River Road, Bermagui
Description: Grade: Very little walking involved - easy paddling if low winds
Terrain: Estuary
A scenic paddle up the Bermagui River and back with a morning and afternoon tea stops on the way. We will be having lunch by the river at The Crossing, Land Education Centre, and for those interested, a tour of the facilities there. There is an opportunity to paddle further upstream towards the tidal limit, if we fit in with the high tide in the early afternoon, before heading downstream. If approaching from the south, turn left off the Tathra-Bermagui Road immediately before the bridge, and follow the bitumen and then a short section of dirt road to the car park.
The trip is dependent on weather and in the event of gale force winds we will probably have to postpone it. Check your email and the blog a day or two before the date or give us a call.
